First, the facility and staff were courteous and fast. I like the location and ability to rent quick with app.

On the vehicle,
Unit had been smoked in and not cleaned well. My clothes reminded me all day of riding in this unit.
The right turn signal was out.
The driveshaft or transmission sounded as if it was about to come apart. A high pitch whining sound during the whole ride. The unit has not been well maintained.

I would change Nothing! If I rent one again, it will be through the same location. Hopefully, even through the same person! He was polite, helpful, and very efficient. This was the UHAUL by Fultondale High School! Such an easy process!

Do NOT store here unless you want to be burgled!!! We stored a few valuable items here that we didn’t want to risk losing/breaking in the two Pods we used for storage after selling our home in SC. We rented a small climate-controlled unit (see photo) inside of the security gate. We gradually moved all the small things from the unit into the Gardendale house we bought over the course of a few months, but we couldn’t move the heavy generator, 77” LG TV or console table by ourselves. Once we scheduled assistance, we opened the door to find that the only thing in the unit was the console table!!! Also: No security cameras besides the one at the gate, and the insurance company, Rep West, refused our claim since there was no sign of forced entry. So we paid hundreds of dollars to lose thousands to theft. Less than zero stars!!!

Guy at the counter was very helpful. only bad part was Uhauls system telling me my rental was going to be canceled and the truck being late because of the previous renter. Not this locations fault. They were great.

I recently had a terrible experience with U-Haul. When I called to confirm my reservation, I was asked where I was taking the truck, which was unusual since I’ve rented from U-Haul multiple times and never been asked this before. I answered, and then I was repeatedly reminded, four times during the call, that I needed to return the truck to the same location I rented it from. I already knew this was U-Haul's policy, so the constant reminders were unnecessary and annoying.

When I arrived to pick up the truck, the office was unbearably hot. I presented my driver’s license, and just as I was about to pay, someone who seemed to be the general manager rudely informed the employee helping me that they couldn’t rent to me because I had an out-of-state license. This rule had never been mentioned to me before in all my previous rentals. Wouldn't it have made more sense to mention this restriction during booking or at least during the call when they reminded me about the return policy four times? Military and federal workers often have out-of-state IDs when they're on temporary duty. Thankfully, I still had my old Alabama license, but it was frustrating that my valid license wasn’t considered sufficient.

The employee did move the truck for me so I could pick it up later, and I appreciated his help.

Returning the truck was another hassle. When I brought it back, I was told I had to drive it up a hill and then walk back to the office in the rain. This information would have been helpful at the time of pick-up instead of the repeated reminders about returning it to the rental location.

Overall, I won’t rent from this location again. The customer service was subpar, except for the one helpful employee, and the arbitrary rules about licenses made the whole experience awful.

This is one nasty u haul please to rent from got a truck after running around and it's full of smoke and the mange trying to tell me she clean it had to drive close to 500 miles smelling like smoke and she tell me I could only get $50 back....if you call that clean I could just imagine how you clean everything else .just nasty is h-- that's why we as people can't get anywhere turn in the rental and the guy smell the the smoke smfh...change it to the game cause you will lose more

Nearly 5 months since the tornado damage at this location and they still haven't fixed my unit. My belongings are still in a crate at a different location (was never told they were being taken there), I am getting late payment emails from the second location (who I had never previously done business with) even though I have always been on auto pay, none of the employees at either location can even figure out how to resolve my bill because they say I am the other location's customer, and the managers never call me back. Suffice to say my customer experience is not very good.
