If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the absolute worst utility company I have ever used. They have no plans or help for you if you get behind whatsoever, And this is my only option of companies to use where I am located. I am a month behind on my bill, which I am not proud of and if I could fix it, I would, but it is the way it is. I’m trying. To top things off, ALL of my utilities are through this same company!! It’s my only option!!
I get an automated phone call today, on the second day of the month, telling me I have to pay my past due or my utilities will be shut off within 24 hours. I hadn’t even seen my bill yet!! As a matter of fact, The call came in at 9:43 am and my bill came in at 10:31 am!!! I’ve contacted the one place that I am told helps with bills but who knows if they will get to me in time because I’m obviously not the only one. I don’t even have a normal payday day in between to make my payment! I call to try to talk to someone and all she can say is it’s auto generated she’s sorry. Nothing.
Some companies provide a budget for customers to where their bills average out for the year to a constant set number. Some provide a few options for help with their bill or would at the very least, allow for 5 days to get a paycheck!!!

They used to remind you if there was an issue with your payment, however they recently stopped doing that via paper notice and now they claim it’s done via phone. That wouldn’t be an issue if they actually had your correct contact info. They had a phone number on my file that I did not recognize, therefore their supposed attempt to inform me of a payment issue wasn’t relayed to me. I found this out because my water was shut off. They showed no concern that they didn’t have the correct contact info and refused to one time waive the reconnect fee. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to waive the reconnect fee when they do not have up to date contact info nor have they made an attempt to make sure they had correct contact info. I guess their old system of notifying you’re late via a paper notice on your door didn’t result in enough reconnect fees, so they switched to relying on out of date or straight up wrong contact info in their system to increase their revenue. Personally, if I worked for Riviera I would ensure we had proper contact info if I was going to solely rely on that method to notify people of a payment issue…but then again that wouldn’t increase revenue through reconnect fees…something Riviera obviously relies on. Now that I have paid for the service to be turned back on I was told it would take 30 mins to an hour…2 hours later I still do not have water and no one will tell me when it will be back on. Yes, it’s my fault I got behind but it’s awfully convenient for Riviera’s pockets to rely on out of date or totally incorrect contact info. I wonder how much of a revenue increase they saw when they did away with notifying via a note on your door. Somewhere in a boardroom this was discussed and dollar $ign$ were surely $een.

Riviera has the most GARBAGE utility services we've ever had and that's truly saying something. Their power grid is ALWAYS failing and these clowns schedule trucks to go to whoever is closest first rather than the LARGEST areas impacted first?!

They are consistently inept, all the way around.

This 5-star review is strictly for the service we received when we lost internet. On a Sunday, Colin came to our house, and in a matter of minutes had our internet service back on. He could have waited till the next business day, since I called it in around 3pm, but he came and made sure we were took care of. Thank you Colin for a top-notch service.

I Give them 1 star id rather give zero. I'm sry but my power bill is 800 to 900 a month I get lucky thru the winter. It does down to 600 or 700 . I live in an old drafty house . My complaint is would it really hurt u to wait before u cut me off when I do at least send in 600 to 700 at one time and that little most of the time 100 still remaining always gets paid before the 1st . But dang the letter on the door for that in the middle of the week giving one day then will be cut off for 100 dollars still owing. Really. Some of us are doing the best we can and already stressed out monthly and no payment plans offered at all it's have the money by 5 or sry .

Internet really sucks. It is literally my boyfriend and I in our house. We cannot watch a movie and play a video game at the same time. Not to mention high prices. Hopefully other services will be available in this growing town (lived here all my life). They want the people moving in quickly, but can't keep up with demand.

I am only speaking of the STELLAR customer service I received when moving to Foley and opening up a new account. Both Roxanne and LaTonya were very helpful and thorough.
After reading some of the reviews, it is good that there are other options for services we are unhappy with. Coming from rural Pennsylvania, we did not have that luxury.

Riviera says no pause to internet
We bought our house a year ago in foley. Riviera won’t let us pause our internet this year so we will switch providers. I’m not sure that not allowing all snowbirds to pause services is a good business decision….Can’t pause garbage either. Customer service people couldn’t give me reason for this change of policy. You also have to return router or they will charge you 100 dollars.
