- Bring your Driver's License
- Bring a High Visibility Vest (Mandatory)
- Be prepared for a security check-in process
5. _Waiting Times:_
- Be prepared for long queues
- Long waiting times are common
- Long lunch times, so plan your schedule accordingly
6. _Premises:_
- Be aware of your surroundings and take necessary precautions
- Be careful while navigating the premises

_Overall:_ Plan ahead, arrive early, and be prepared for a thorough security check-in process. Don't forget to wear a High Visibility Vest, as it is mandatory. Be patient and cautious while waiting and navigating the premises.

Nothing is smooth or efficient here. Two visits in last 6 months...first, a pick up, 8 hours...latest, a delivery, 6 hours. Newark makes me cringe, and this place churns my guts

Honestly, i was scared of the negative reviews at first. Its pretty simple when you arrive, scan the QR code on the gate, you will see all the steps required to make it an easy pickup at the port. Put on a hi vis vest, check in with the security officer and get a gate ticket, give the. gate ticket too the guys at the window inside the waiting area, and they will drive you right out to your vehicle. The battery on mine was dead so their dedicated port mechanic came over and jumped it for me. Honestly a great experience, and I will be using them again if i need to.

2024 EDIT - Things have gone way downhill since baltimore closed. NYC is not prepared for this volume. If you don’t show up before port opens and get in line you are testing your luck with having to wait forever. I wish the government would step in and make a more efficient process here. They do everything the slow way and it’s awful. Updated to 3 stars.

Not sure why so many people knock this place. I always get here early, know where to go, and have all my paperwork ready - things go smoothly.

Dock workers, security, and office staff have always been fine to work with.

Keep in mind there is now a $35 fee per vehicle import, this is paid through your phone so expect to spend about 5-10 minutes with this step.

Complete dumpster fire. No posted signs on where or how to enter. You must find parking on Distribution street, you'll want to be EASTBOUND on Distribution. Walk through the front gate to the security guard, they WILL REFUSE you if you don't have a physical copy of the delivery order printed out. Be ready to waste a whole day or more waiting in line only to be told you need to book a crane which is also overbooked. Stay away.
